North Cascade National Park

North Cascade National Park is the United States least visited National Park with truly gorgeous mountains and forests...often called the "American Alps". This park features Washington Pass on highway 20 that crosses over the Cascade Mountains and is the northmost major highway going from west to east in the Pacific northwest. The highway follows the Skagit River untill it emptys into Puget Sound with enough fresh water to fill 1/3 of the sound. Along the drive are three dams that produce electricity for Seattle and surrounding areas.
